Big Water Pike Fishing

All the writers within this book have extensive experience of big water pike fishing. The main author and editor Neville Fickling has caught nearly 400 pike over 20lb many of these from the larger waters. Pride of place was a 38-08 from Lough Mask and a 37-08 from Ladybower reservoir.
Dave Kelbrick is one of our most accomplished lure anglers. He has had pike to 30lb or close to that from a number of big waters. He brings his expertise to two chapters; one on Lake District waters and the other on the Baltic Sea.
Alan Ferguson has boated 70 pike over 20lb from Lake District waters with lure and bait personal bests of 29-08 each.
Scott Davidson has been fishing Scottish waters for 22 years. During that time he has consistently caught big pike culminating in a recent personal best of 32-08 from The Lake of Menteith.
Geoff Parkinson has pike fished in the Lake District for 30 years. He has experience of a number of different waters and has been successful from the bank as well as in boats.
Jim Woolnough has caught big pike from a range of UK waters on bait and fly. However it is his experience as a guide in Spain that we draw on in this book. One wonderful upland reservoir in Spain has proved to be a Mecca for many UK pike anglers. He tells here how to get to grips with such a water.
Alastair Rawlings is an Englishman living in Eire. He has shown conclusively that it is possible to catch huge numbers of big pike from the larger waters in Eire despite the gross mismanagement of the resource.
